Wharfie,
It didn't do much for energy, since they ended up at a school up north, but, as a symbol, it was very important.
Symbol schmymbol. It means nothing.
We've never been very serious about that.
You mean we weren't serious about that back when former VP and now environmental crusader Al Gore was pushing for it?

You mean we weren't serious about that when we were attacked on 9/11, then went to war against two Middle Eastern nations?

You mean we weren't serious about that when "An Inconvenient Truth" won the Academy Award for Best Documentary?

You mean we weren't serious about that when T. Boone Pickens, a guy who became a billionaire on Texas oil, then made a HUGE investment in wind energy?

You mean we weren't serious about that when America's "addiction to oil" was a popular political buzz phrase?

You mean we weren't serious about that when a massive oil spill polluted the shores of the Gulf of Mexico back in 2010?

Wow, I'm so grateful that people only thought of becoming serious about "alternative energy" in the past two years! Better late that never, right?
