"You mean we weren't serious about that back when former VP and now environmental crusader Al Gore was pushing for it?"

What did we doing?

You mean we weren't serious about that when we were attacked on 9/11, then went to war against two Middle Eastern nations?"

What did we do? I know the military began using some solar in the field, but what did we really do?

"You mean we weren't serious about that when "An Inconvenient Truth" won the Academy Award for Best Documentary?"
What did we do? Maybe that inspired Arnold to start the transition? That would be doing something serious, but not on a national scale.

"Wow, I'm so grateful that people only thought of becoming serious about "alternative energy" in the past two years! Better late that never, right?"

People not only thought about it, they even talked about it; quite serious talk, BTW, for about 40 years. You could create a lot of energy by harnessing all the hot air, but that would require serious action, like building and deploying hot air catchers. . Again, what did we do? Obama began nibbling around the edges, but we're still not serious as a nation; it's more about action at the state and local levels.
