I get that and it might have worked then, but the means and methods of the past are not fitting well in the real world of today. The metaphor could be likened to the school bully getting away with knocking heads in the halls between class, but we all know that eventually the bully gets taken down.

We need to get smarter if we want to retain our dominance. Work in coordination with other nations not destroy their cities when there is disagreement. We also need to give up these incessant wars. Wars which have become quite unpopular and unsupported by the majority of people.

Our previous central philosophy - about the business of America being business - was far more constructive.

Totally agree. Democrats are great at pigeonholing and, among other things, have become quite picky about what business' they will sanction.

That stratagem doesn't work in a democracy.
