Hi Quad-K:
<< I've gone back and read, and listened to Schmidt's earlier interviews to get a better feel for the man and his vision. >>
We seem to be of similar minds. I have gone back and read the posts of some of the regulars of this thread...
<< Seren, right, turn arounds can take a number of years, even Schmidt mentioned 2-3 years before Novell turns the corner. >>
Oh, I did not mean years! I thought Schmidt said couple of quarters--when he made his poor appearance on CNBC. Of course, you are probably referring to other statements of his. In any case, some of THAT time is behind us! A solid quarter and a few buy recommendation and we will see what "fast cash" (is this the correct spelling? ggg)is all about! <GGG>
<< I believe the quick money didn't like those words. Oh well, the tortoise keeps plugging along and will soon make it across that hot desert bearing gifts to those who are patient. >>
Believe me, as some one who has made money on turn arounds, when the "tortoise" turns, especially in the fast markets we are in, the moves will be swift and will leave behind many.
<< By the way, I've heard people mention that recent volume and share price move of NOVL is due to Netscape rumors. That would be nice, but its already last weeks news. >>
Typical thinking by those having been burned before or those accumulating. These comments are encouraging but are not enough! The more negative comments the better the chance of the turn.
<< I would just hope its buying on fundamentals more than anything else. NOVL needs to continue building a very strong base of shareholders, thats what I want to see. >>
Fundamentals, Incremental volume, Acc/Dis, block trades, price action, MM (Market Makers) actions, are some of the clues I follow to differentiate "rumor--action.". When I posted on this thread that the drop to 7 and bellow 'has the look and feel of a shake out' there was no rumor. Price and volume tells the truth most of the time and it did with Novell as it forced out the weaker and the most disappointed holders. MMs can hide their intentions but not their actions. It really was all there...
Finally, anyone buying into Novell between 6 to 8 (Frederick's price) is not risking much. Unless, Asia goes to hell, Japan goes bankrupt, Schmidt is kicked by Billy and Novell blows the one Billion. Of course, all the above happening at the same time is a possibility too. LOL and LOL
High Regards,
Seren. |
