I heard Stanley Drukenmiller recently say that this is the most challenging environment he has ever seen. He said that it he keeps reminding himself of that every time he wants to take a position. Overall, he was bearish, but he expected a not so dead cat bounce because he believes there are a lot of undervalued stocks out there that can make a good case for the rally in both the fundamentals and technicals.

Why do you say this is a sign of a secular bear market rather than a short lived thing i.e a sign of the bottom? Isn't it more likely for the breadth to improve and the stocks to build a bottom than for the stocks to remain oversold?
