Mutual Fund trading: Some "anomalies" encountered.

I was, ahem, "playing" with the mutual fund trading to see how functional it really is. It looked like today was going to be a boring trading day, and I didn't have anything better to do with my time. There are a few kinks left in the hose. Here's what I've found so far:

1) Cancelling a mutual fund trade takes 4-freaking-ever. I placed an order after market close yesterday afternoon just to "see what would happen". I had suspicions that cancelling a MF order would be an ordeal. I tried to cancel it sometime after 8:30 or so this morning. The order is still sitting there in limbo-land. Somebody at Datek needs to finish that coffee and danish and press the button, flip the switch or whatever in a more timely manner. My suspicions were confirmed.

2) AFTER trying to cancel the aforesaid MF order, the "open orders" status shows nothing under the "Status" column for the MF order. The "Cancel" checkbox is still hanging around.

3) The confirmation screen for the cancel DOES show that the MF order is "Trying to cancel". This is the only place that I can find where the MF order status shows.

I still like the fluffy, java-filled, god-awful-colored, graphic-overloaded "enhanced" site. Then again, I'm frequently told that I have no taste whatsoever. Some people were just destined to wear polyester. I'm also *very* color-blind.
