I think that the greatest gift aside from loyalty that doggies give us is their understanding of play and living in the moment .. with all the dog cruelty that sadly still exists.. they need that to survive.. When I was 13 my folks got a Poodle.. was supposed to be miniature .. but ended up being a small standard.. was such a great dog.. smart .. loved the water.. loved fetching from the lake.. but also when we got a big snow dump she would cry to go out .. bounding through he snow and actually tunneling through the powder to pop up 10 feet from where she entered .. dogs are one of God's or nature's depending upon viewpoint easily greatest gifts to humanity I think the only animal that can be soul mate to a human
