I know you think I'm nuts.
Certainly NOT even though there are things you do / allow which I wouldn't and likely the other way around.

I have always found that dogs eventually mirror the personalities of their owners. They even differentiate between family members and are very good in figuring out who likes / tolerates what and whom to go to to satisfy their various needs. If they want a real good long cuddle or are hurt, they go to my wife. If they want to roughhouse, go for a long walk or play stick, they come to me. Obedience is another good example. My wife tends to be more lenient. With her the first "here" is considered a suggestion. They know they have a little time as a second or third "here" will follow without negative consequences. With me it's one "here" no ifs buts or whats.

BTW, I totally agree with only using low key / quiet commands. If you have to yell at your dog, you are doing something wrong as in instilling fear.
