Seger came up the hard way, playing local pubs and venues, and even playing backyard parties in the 60's.

He was a regional act until he broke it big in the early 80's. After that, he dumped his wife for a piece of jail bait (kind of like a Rock and Roll rite of passage back then) and proceeded to make syrupy, mainstream music.

He's got a concert work ethic like Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street band.

Others who work on stage hard like that include Beyonce (who does her whole act in crazy stupid high heels and rehearses for weeks) and Madonna.

The late Prince would be another one that comes to mind when you're talking about hard working musicians on stage.
