Have you tried TENS for the nerve pain? It might be helpful. Nerve pain is different and i've found it helpful for that but I was really shocked when I got mad at an arthritic knee and left the TENS on for 45 minutes straight.. it was better for months and now I only use it occasionally on that knee and the pain is less severe.
