From broadcast, which had increasing number of ads...obnoxiously so, and sometimes poor reception, to 'cheap' cable with no, or less ads and better reception...to more expensive cable with no, or few ads..to free streaming, and now back to ads... well, ads give time for a snack or bathroom break...lol
