re BHP - dividend - found a source which confirms that there is no dividend withholding for BHP (which surprises me). the table below shows that net dividend = gross dividend which means no withholding depositaryreceipts.citi.com FWIW, I don't have a position yet, but this is one I am watching, just in case. They have together with Vale the highest quality iron ore reserves (iron grade, cost) in the world, so should be able to make money no matter what. Kudos for holding this since 2001 - it must have been challenging at times.
