Re: Middle Age Portfolio ... New Purchase.

Today I started a small position in TGT which I plan on building over the next couple of months. The yield for TGT has risen to 3.07% and their latest dividend increase was 20%. This makes TGT a good dividend growth option if the valuation is acceptable.

When I look at the intrinsic value for TGT, I see where the "Worst Case" scenario has fair value at $155.01.

Morningstar has fair value at $171.

CFRA has fair value at $141.92.

FAST Graphs also shows TGT selling at a discount to fair value based on PE levels. The historical PE is 16.77 and the current blended PE is 12.11.

I had consensus from all four sources that TGT was an acceptable buy based on valuation.

In premarket I placed an order "at the open" and got the opening price of $141.82. The price closed at $146.81.

The short term supply issues and excess inventory are temporary in my opinion and I think TGT will be in good shape for 2023, thus the reason for starting and building a position now.
