Bitstream is like Sigourney Weaver -- it has a powerful alien living inside it, and no one knows. The recently acquired software company, Archetype, is that "alien" and is breeding a future into Bitstream. Alas, the crew on the space ship (aka wall street analysts) just don't know it's there, and so don't follow the company, therefore no one pays attention, thus, NO VOLUME. If you try to read about the company on the web, you get old info. Some internet research sites still have the previous ceo as still at the company. That info is 6 months old.
It's very unusual to find a company, which has essentially become a software company through acquisition, trading at such a low multiple. I don't have enough experience in investing to know how long it takes for the investment community to discover a stock with an alien living inside. As I posted several months ago, an analyst at Navellier told me ""it's all about earnings...no earnings, no movement." (He is, of course, an earnings-momentum kind of guy.) But I wouldn't argue with Navellier's staff about any financial concept-- they're light years beyond my level of investing experience.
Let me just add, with the market being as toppy as this one is, I'd rather stake my savings on Bitstream, which has nowhere to go but UP, than a lot of other stocks which, well, you know the rest. |
