Imo it is for real, very real.

I recently did a simulation of my diesel PU vs. Tesla Cybertruck. Fuel cost for my diesel PU is between 4 and 5 times that of a Cybertruck. Diesel hit 6.40 here recently. Juice is high here too so it was a good comparison, 30 cents per kilowatt hour. Cost of new Cybertruck is probably very similar to a new diesel, similarly equipped. Maintenance on an EV should over time be decently less, in dollars.

Lotta BS out there, from the ICE crowd. I like ICE's too ... but crude is no longer 40 per barrel.

Rumor from the street is that over 3 million cyber trucks are on order now. Think about that.

LCID I own from higher up, made a bad buy but kept it. Might buy more, more interested in the moment in NIO. Want to diversify a bit. I think NIO has not yet quite bottomed, but getting close. LCID I think has bottomed here. NIO imo is one that could give Tesla trouble down the road. The Chinese are into everything.

Decided not to invest at the moment in miners, or raw material processors. I think the dollar is keeping em tamped down. But we see.

LCID has an excellent CEO and is going after the high end of the EV market. The money end?

~ 85 million autos are produced globally per year. EV production barely starting, globally was probably around 5 million last year or less. I don't personally consider hybrids EV's, I think eventually they will disappear. Tesla on top. Closet competition is VW as I recall, BYD Co next.

Some are not going to make it. It is crowded.

I like the designs of the GOEV vehicles, but rumors are not good, they may not make it. ELMs went bankrupt, rumors not good about Workhorse either.

Further down the road new batt technology will come out, with vastly improved ranges as well as charging rates. The Jesus Battery or Forever Battery ... a solid state battery. Following some leads, no dice yet.
