I'm happy with the end result, and I think 100% of the credit goes to Putin. Without his actions, neither country would have applied for membership.

If Trump was still in office, Putin would be in Kiev, and Zalenskyy would be in Siberia, or dead. Out of all the people who ran for president in '20, I'm not sure who else could have pulled NATO together, and assumed the mantle of leader of the free world. Right now, leading the free world in the fight for democracy feels like a good thing to me.
