I think it's more like Putin strengthened the NATO alliance by starting his war of choice, but Russia isn't usually seen as the leader of the free world, so I'm not sure how much credit we should give him.
Brandon isn't seen as the "leader of the free world," either. All he has done is go along with the crowd as a member of NATO. He's exercising no more influence than Luxembourg.

By the way, I still remember when Brandon called Brussels the "Capitol of the Free World." This was back when he was VP under Obama. Already he and Obama were relinquishing America's leadership position.
