thank you for your response, i feel no worse having taken a position yesterday. coms is no nn. 3 reasons to take a long position:

1. aol increased rates, expect other isps to follow and use this money to buildup infrastructure.

2. modem standard. coms has the modem with the market and name share. this will help to spurn sales and unstuff the channel.

3. 3com is still a monster company, future products (ie gigabit ethernet) will help to fuel growth. and expect to see more alliances with voice companies as voice and data merge.
