Highlights of the News

ITEM 1: West Virginia v. EPA in which my state challenged the EPA's authority to regulate carbon dioxide (without which, we all die). The state won. But the case itself clarified who is on what sider in this chasm between the American Dream and the Socialist Nightmare.

States chose sides. The pinko states (California, New York, Illinois, et cetera) sided with the Deep State's power grab at the EPA.

25 states that voted for Trump in 2016 as well as New Jersey and Washington state opposed the EPA.

The court's 6-3 decision ( which I wrote of on Thursday) sent Democrats and the DC media reeling.

Schumer moaned, "First on gun safety, then on abortion, and now on the environment — this MAGA, regressive, extremist Supreme Court is intent on setting America back decades, if not centuries.

"Today’s decision adds to a number of dangerously outrageous decisions that have rightly tarnished the public’s confidence in the court — every Republican who had a role in putting these six justices on the bench are complicit in the devastating impacts of its extremist decisions."

Chuckles and the rest of the Democrats had two years to give EPA the authority to regulate carbon dioxide. It didn't. Until it does, EPA cannot do this through the back door.

This is so simple, even a chief justice can understand it.

ITEM 2: Happy Canada Day. It used to celebrate freedom. Now it marks another year of rule by Justin Castreaux.

It is so sad to see a great country laid waste by socialism.

ITEM 3: The Daily Mail reported, "Texas parents have slammed their school district's highly restrictive new dress code which ban dresses, skirts, blouses and denim, during a heated board meeting.

"Forney Independent School District, which encompasses 18 elementary, middle and high schools just east of Dallas, announced last week that they will be implementing the strict rules for their 14,000 students in the new term, which begins on August 11.

"The school district said the dress code was designed 'to improve student self-esteem, bridge socio-economic differences among students, and promote positive behavior, thereby enhancing school safety and improving the learning environment'.

"But on Monday night, parents and students condemned the rules."

I remember when schools banned slacks for girls.

I have never used this Mark Twain quote, but I must now: "In the first place, God created idiots. That was for practice. Then he made school boards."

Vote them out and get a new superintendent who focuses on education and not self-esteem.

ITEM 4: The New York Post reported, "Jenna Bush Hager blasts North West’s ‘over the top’ birthday party."

Miss West is 9.

Missus Hager is 40.

Nice to see NBC (whom she works for) holding public figures accountable.

ITEM 5: A reader wrote, "Post this. If you dare."

Dr. Seuss would smile.

ITEM 6: KMBC reported, "Missouri voters will have to show photo identification to cast a regular ballot in the November election as a result of a law signed Wednesday by Gov. Mike Parson that caps a nearly two-decade-long push by Republicans for stricter voting requirements.

"The new Missouri election law also will open a two-week window for people to cast absentee ballots in person without needing to cite a reason why they can't vote on Election Day - a provision pushed by Democrats as a compromise for not attempting to block the photo ID requirement.

"The law will take effect Aug. 28, just a few weeks after the state's Aug. 2 primaries."

Photo ID to vote?

What do they think this? It's not like they are buying beer, buying smokes or driving a car.

ITEM 7: ABC needs to stop letting Whoopi Goldberg use its Twitter feed.

Thurgood Marshall could not be reached for comment.

ITEM 8: AP reported, "The U.S. economy shrank at a 1.6% annual pace in the first three months of the year, the government reported Wednesday in a slight downgrade from its previous estimate for January-March quarter.

"It was the first drop in gross domestic product — the broadest measure of economic output — since the second quarter of 2020, in the depths of the COVID-19 recession, and followed a strong 6.9% expansion in the final three months of 2021. Inflation is running at 40-year highs, and consumer confidence is sinking."

The SS Brandon hit an iceberg.

ITEM 9: The Daily Caller reported, "The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is considering labeling the United States’ largest oil field in violation of ozone pollution standards, threatening drilling operations in the region and, by extension, domestic oil production.

"The proposed regulations take aim at the Permian Basin, the largest oil field in the United States, accounting for 95,000,000 gallons of gasoline per day or 40% of the oil produced domestically, according to the Texas Governor’s Office. The move comes amid record gas prices and ongoing energy insecurity for many Americans."

Make Texas an oil sanctuary state.

Better yet, the oil companies should stop supplying gasoline to the DC area.

ITEM 10: Good idea for a PPV congressional hearing.

I want the popcorn concession stand.

ITEM 11: Final score from Chicago in June:

66 killed, 292 wounded.

As far as I can tell, none were with an AR 15.

ITEM 12: Reuters reported, "Thousands of farmers were gathering in a village near the center of the Netherlands on Wednesday to protest a government plan to curb nitrogen pollution, many travelling by tractor from all corners of the country and snarling traffic."

Nitrogen pollution???

78% of air is nitrogen.

Without it, the world really would catch fire.

Once again, journalism fails a free people.

ITEM 13: The Center Square reported, "Dozens of attacks on churches, pregnancy crisis centers, and pro-life groups around the nation have drawn an FBI investigation and questions from lawmakers about whether the Biden administration is doing enough to stop them.

"U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, sent a letter to FBI Director Chris Wray this week calling for a briefing on the issue and urging Wray to ensure these 'violent attacks are recognized by the FBI and are being properly investigated for what they are – cases of abortion-related violent extremism.'"

The FBI is the secret police of the Democrat Party.

Prove me wrong.

ITEM 14: The Daily Wire reported, "Diary of a Mad Black Woman actress Kimberly Elise celebrated the overturning of Roe v. Wade, and was quickly swarmed with hate.

"Elise posted a photo on Tuesday of a little black child accompanied by two verses from the Book of Psalms about children being knitted in their mothers’ wombs by God."

The post said, "For You formed my inward parts, You knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are Your works; my soul knows it very well. Psalms 139:13-1."

It featured the song Jesus Loves Me in the background.

She wrote, "Millions of babies will be saved from death by abortion due to the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Hallelujah!"

The story said, "As of Wednesday, though, comments on the post have been turned off, likely due to backlash the actress quickly received.

"For example, a popular gossip account called The Shade Room, boasting 26.8 million-plus followers, reposted Elise’s post and received more than 38,000 comments and 3.4 million views."

A society that cannot protect its babies does not deserve to survive

And it won't because civilization requires procreation.

ITEM 15: Fox reported, "As Democrats look for the best person to harness the energy and anger many of their voters are feeling after last week’s Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, some are turning to an old friend: Hillary Clinton.

"Clinton denies that she has any plan or desire to get back into politics, and Mark Penn, her 2008 presidential campaign chief strategist, tells Fox News it wouldn’t be a good idea. 'I don’t think the country wants to go back to candidates who have run before, whether that is Hillary, Biden or Trump. Clinton’s national ratings are below Trump’s at this point,' Penn said."

Lock her up.

In an insane asylum.
