Volatility for sure. Stock needs to move 20% just to break even on the options. There must be some scenario where the stock doesn't move and all those rich put/call options expire worthless. One scenario might be they hit the endpoint but the data overall is sketchy. One strategy might be to sell the July options and hope the trial results come out after they expire allowing you to pocket the premium. I don't have a lot of ALNY but decided to sell call options because of the high premium. Can't do options on the shares in my IRA. I never added options trading on the IRA account. Though could probably add that before the news is out. Good luck.
