blankmind,

IMO, COMS and NN are tied at the waist and both are currently attractively valued for a long term investment, though I personally don't plan to open a long position in either until the MA's become bullish. I see the current alliance deepening (check out the NN homepage - has the 3Com logo at the top of the page), and would not be surprised by a merger of the two companies in the future. Aside from the UB product line (which NN, by the way, is handing over to COMS) these two companies have no product overlap and no sales channel overlap - they are quite complimentary and such a merger would be the only effective way to compete w/CSCO for end to end LAN/WAN business.
