Size of population is a lousy metric to determine whether a nation has a formidable military.

Ghana has 30 million people, Nigeria over 200 million. If population were a real metric, the Gulf of Guinea nations would be labeled a superpower.

Interesting, Ukraine went from a country that wouldn’t last 3 days before it’s government fell, according to some “brilliant” analysts, to a formidable force in a only a few months.

Sweden and Finland spend a combined 15 billion a year on defense as compared to Ukraine’s 4 billion.

They also have far more sophisticated equipment and training.

Face it, the joining UN talking point has been rendered mute by events today. The Russians don’t even bother repeating that talking point. Now, it’s about “being embarrassed and humiliated”. Talk about a fragile ego.

My sense is despite the bloodshed and cities being razed to the ground, we are historically approaching another Berlin Wall falling moment in Russia. Look for upheavals within Russia as areas begin to break-away and fight for independence.

The USSR raw-raw musical shows will only last so long to galvanize support when bodybags arrive to more towns and cities.
