Juraj: Please let's not get into a debate over chilling effects. I am not lecturing anybody here. If you honestly feel that yesterday's exhibition was productive in any sense of the word, I think you are in the very clear minority. Let's start at one end of the spectrum. Take a poster who posts "This stock is going down" 15 times per hour for a 24 hour period. Is that acceptable? Is that constructive? Is that the way you or any of us wish to have SI used? Don't forget we pay $125 to use this service and that kind of behavior is not what we paid for. No, Viper did not do that but he came very close. I have been on SI for quite some time and I have NEVER seen volume trash postings like I saw yesterday from Viper. You refer to Viper as "civil" and responding in a reasonable tone. Most everyone yesterday clearly disagreed. Not only did he never reply civilly, but he rarely answered any questions put to him at all. He reiterated the same question "Why did Ruiz leave?" all day despite about 5 posts from separate people answering the question. And he never addressed their answers!!!! He just kept asking the question, often RIGHT AFTER SOMEONE ANSWERED IT. I simply can't go in to the details of all his questionable conduct yesterday because that would take too long. Sufficed to say, we are not chilling speech here, simply the method employed in speaking. Even the most left-wing, liberal, antiauthoritarians have a right to freedom of speech but they can't do so by "speaking" through grafitti or vandalism. All of this is the behavior of someone with a separate agenda on SI and, given the very clear tone and style of this person, someone not interested in constructive discussions regarding KRY, but rather someone interested only in provoking and goading. I am quite surprised that you are running to his defense. Inflammatory one-liners that he hurled with voracious frequency yesterday simply cannot be considered a part of the SI experience. You may be able to cite to an occasional post that bordered on "civil" but the overwhelming majority of his posts were simply taunts and jabs. I apologize if I sounded like I was "lecturing". Post whenever and to whomever you would like. I was simply raising an issue concerning a very specific poster who I and most others believe was STRONGLY out of line yesterday. I am in full agreement that the more people can share, the better. But a line does have to be drawn SOMEWHERE as to what constitutes communication and what constitutes gross abuse.
