Dear Jane:

I must respectfully disagree with you when you suggest that many Christians care for the child while in the womb but once they are born do not care for them. I personally know and support fine Christian organizations that: (1) give the pregnant women free care during their pregnancies and follow-up with them after birth; (2) Provide free adoption services for those mothers who choose to adopt their children out. I have heard the testimonies from women who are so thankful that Christians showed that they cared and gave them the message that the children they were carrying in their wombs do matter, even the ones that were only a few cells at the time.

I know for a fact that there are many, many, many Christians (and non-Christians for that matter) who want nothing more than to adopt a baby. If you have ever looked into adoption, you will know that the waiting list is unbelievably long because there are not enough babies for the people who desperately want to adopt one. And guess why there are not enough babies!

The bogus notion that pro-lifers do not care about the children once they are born is one of the biggest lies that the pro-abortion crowd likes to spread about pro-lifers. One thing for sure is that terminating the life of that child is not a caring response.

In Christ, Tom
