I wouldn't call the Republican base idiots, but they are ignorant and they comprise three primary populations.

1) The uneducated. Trump won by a wide margin among those without a college education and especially white males.

2) And the seniors who didn't get a good education when young or just didn't keep up.

3) The vestiges of our cultures of racism, bigoty and ignorance.

They want a cult of idiots to enable their power.

That means less separation of church and state.

It means no abortions but more access to weapons and ammo.

It means drowning reasonable government regulation along with poisoning the planet for profit.

It means cowards enabling asshole strongmen.
