The thing to remember about the Nordic countries is that they are highly educated and so know better what to do to effect a highly civilized and humanitarian society. And they try to make things better. As a contrast we need only to look at the cretins the "south and rural " areas have been sending us for the last 50 years and have been running our government with the most power. They not only don't know what to do, they don't do it when the do know. So while the Nordic countries have politicians who not only know what to do, but want to do it, that certainly cannot be said about the Nazi Republican party for the last 50 years. All they have done is fuck things up and driven us into debt. I would also point out a huge number of politicians in the Nordic countries are females, maybe a majority, while the southern and rural cretins are mostly old white stupid men! <he Nordic countries aren't poor. They take care of everyone. Maybe, because they are small and used to be homogenous, it was easier to have a welfare state where people were (mostly) cared for. It is probably a lot harder now when they are more diverse. Diversity brings anxiety and a desire to "cut off" the "others" from benefits one (and one's kin group) "deserves" themselves. In our country we see that white "christians" (who are not christian in the least) think they are not only entitled to other people's money (for example, blue state money) but that they are also entitled to impose their religion on everyone else. Perhaps diversity brought down Rome and it will do the same to us. It's not like we can go back- no matter how much white fucked up assholes want to- we've passed the point of no-return in terms of how many cultures and races and religions we encompass. India is a lot like the US, in terms of it's internecine struggles- which won't make you sleep well at night if you think about it too much.
