When one covers the violent methods - the RW "wins" the extremism body count .

We have the then-President specifically calling out to the Proud Boys to "stand by" during a second term debate. We have him talking about "both sides" when an extremist plows into a person the same place neo-Nazis are shouting "Jews will not replace us." There is no analog for this by the Left. We have numerous lone wolves carrying his banner and weapons his party made sure they could obtain, killing scores per incident.

Imagine the RW response if a Democrat had ever called out to the Weather Underground (who actually cleared buildings) to "stand back and stand by" during a Viet Nam-era political debate, and the actively mobilized them when Nixon won a second term. It is evident what the Proud Boys were "standing by" for now, isn't it? We see and hear a man planning his coup should he lose. We hear his lackies laugh when Steve Bannon relates this.

In an idealized political science class it is okay to say the left and the right use similar methods in the extremes. The objective evidence shows that the political right is willing to kill far more people in their lust for accomplishing their political goals here, whether it was in the times of 1930's Union Busting or now.

We can go to Asia or Eastern Europe and see large numbers under Mao and Stalin - but these don't meet the criterion of any leftist ideals here. They are sui generis in that these were anti-Imperial movements where the colonizers, oppressors and their puppets had used similar methods on the populations they controlled. More of a tit-for-tat situation that has no American analog except wars against indigenous peoples. And I didn't see anyone cheering on AIM movement from the office of the President to achieve their political ends.

By not denouncing this modern phenomenon - the RW and their apologists become complicit and culpable.
