I agree with your assessment. The current system seems controlled by groups preoccupied with making it harder for people with low power to vote and stripping them off the rolls for the little or no good reason. Big oil is but one of the beneficiaries - business of all kinds, especially recipients of healthcare and consumers of food are also impacted.
