Hi Terry, that's pretty funny! No I don't think I would go that far.

I believe saving the environment boils down to two main themes.
1. Selling as much public land as possible to private interests.
2. Developing a better relationship between the needs of industry, people and the government.

The good news is, contrary to all the gloom and doom heard on this thread, this trend is largely in place and effecting the environment for the positive rather than the negative. The air is getting cleaner in America, the rivers and streams are getting cleaner, the woods are growing back stronger than ever and the wildlife is booming.

That I believe is a more realistic view of what is really happening around the country.

Why has it happened? Some credit can go to the environmental groups raising consciousness, some to industry, and some to government policy. But mostly it's happening because of profits.

An inevitable evolution as an economy moves from a manufacturing base to an information base, where it's people have more leisure time to enjoy these environmentally appealing endeavors.
