TRACK REPORT

Our man in the field gtoland reports from the Deli BAT has set up for some 60 people in attendance.

The first 50 miles have been completed. The results were 94.5 mpg. This trial was driven by Jon Green, 14 " tires were used--the GEO METRO is front wheel drive.

The second 50 mile test will begin in about 45 min. Keith Harper will be driving. They are making some adjustments in the BAT Out Of Hell Super Car. These include re-aligning the front end and changing to 15" tires on the front. The drivers thought the RPM were too high with 14" tires and this change is expected to boost mileage over 100 mpg.

They are running 50 miles on a two mile track. The car is traveling 40 mph (speed) and completes one lap in 3 min. Thus each trial takes 75 minutes to complete.

To clear up the fuel consumption issue discussed awhile ago, the BAT Out Of Hell SUPER CAR has 3 one liter graduated cylinders for a fuel tank in the trunk. On the first run, it used 670 ml out of each graduated cylinder.

RECAP: First trail 94.5 mpg. Three adjustments to be made for second test: 1) re-align front end, 2) use oversized tires (15"), and 3) some fuel seepage was noted around the connection of the graduated cylinders.
