I'm not interested in winning hard MAGA voters who support MTG and White Power. I advise pursuing lost middle voters captured by false narratives of the modern Republican machine (pounded in by decades of daily Limbaugh, FoxNews and more recently Steve Bannon propaganda under Trump) and the other usual suspects on the radio. People feel excluded and fearful from government. We must address those fears clearly and empathetically. AND BOTTOMS UP, local-county and state. We need simpler, more inclusive messages not focus on single-issue micro aggressions. Not a battle for largest demographic victimhood. And no more "zero tolerance" fascism that transcends due process and rule of law. No more violence, vigilantism or Kangaroo Courts from left or right. I'll say again, Bernie Sanders is good at clear messaging outside his base but IMO many of his followers have no clue as to politics or Democracy. We fucked up the peaceful, effective Occupy movement more than a decade ago for example, when anarchists and violent rioters took over, as here in Oakland. We looked the other way and the true meaning of the movement was forgotten. This is not meant as attack on anyone here personally. It is a critique of the tactical failures of the left, and not learning from lessons taught.
