The days of the Mac as an alternative propietary PC are gone. Too late for that. I see three ways out for the Mac: 1.- Become an SGI-type workstation manufacturer. This requires a substantial lead in all things graphical. 2.- Move towards an intel platform. This would allow corporations to hedge their bets by buying Intel. 3.- The NC market. IMHO this is the hardest one, as these "X-terminals version 2.0" have not yet found their appropiate niche. It seems Apple is making tentative moves in all three fronts.
