Take the border crisis, for example.

A few points..

"Open border" is an oxymoron. You either have a border or you don't. If you cross a country's border illegally, you are an invader. Once you've entered the country illegally, you are an illegal alien. And by breaking immigration law, you are, by definition, a criminal.

Another point.. You either have law or you don't. If you don't like a law, change it. Selectively enforcing or ignoring various laws renders them meaningless. And absent the rule of law, you have anarchy.

IMO, the majority of Americans are compassionate people, but at the same time, they see the consequences of lawless chaos at the border and are getting fed up with an administration doing nothing to stop it..
