Converting the energy of photons to electricity Does NOT generate heat.

Solar panels get hot because the solar energy they DON'T convert into electricity gets converted into heat which radiates off the panel - just like a black metal panel.
.

Newer solar panels that also convert heat into electricity would greatly increase the efficiency of solar panel from 20% to perhaps 80%, by not wasting the energy as heat radiated off the panel. - pv-magazine.com
