Question:

Last year the CPAs pushed for a rule that would have required this kind of accounting. I understand the high tech companies sabotaged the effort, because many of them would go from showing a profit to showing a loss. Making the IRS unhappy, among others.

What is the current situation vis-a-vis new accounting rules? Are they dead for now?
