RuZZia and China have a vested interest in underreporting the death count.

As for India, it's impossible to know how many people died from COVID given that the vast majority of their residents live in poverty and don't have any access to modern health care. India can only count confirmed deaths for the official record, not the unconfirmed deaths that can only be estimated.

Then again, Prime Minister Modi was also in severe denial over the scope of the COVID pandemic, so he too would have a vested interest in underreporting the death toll.
