Well, it would never happen to you guys. You're too astute to be taken in by a con man. One thing I tell people who are about to go traveling around is......if someone approaches you for some / any reason, be suspicious. On the other hand if you need some help with most anything, if you initiate the contact with almost any stranger, most likely the stranger is reliable and eager to help, and will not try to rip you off. Being targetted is the key.
