(1) Conflicts are not good ideas, against Russia or China, but worse if against Russia and China.
(2) So far the 'collective west' has ceded the Russian truck, sedan, and whatever on wheels markets, and consumer electrical / electronic markets to China,
(3) Helped China to secure energy, minerals, and food supplies,
(4) Entice a better-than-ally friend for national security
(5) Opened gate to Siberia / Arctic infrastructure buildout, and
(6) Embrace a partner for space, moon, and all manner of techie works
(7) ... all using effectively gold-backed Yuan (the Yuan used to buy Russian energy, per agreement several years back, can be exchanged for gold on Shanghai Gold Exchange)
As to what the original stratagem was I cannot fathom. Can only suggest holding Congressional hearings and fast, re 'who lost China & Russia to each other?'
Whatever Team B is doing, am feeling uncomfortable that it is or can work to USA advantage.
Perhaps I am missing something critical.
(8) All ears on the upcoming Biden call to Xi supposed w/i a few days. Unclear to me Biden can have anything new to say except 'we shall institute secondary sanctions against you' to which Xi can only respond, 'Ok'
(9) Such a trajectory would only make the Ukraine situation worse, at the very least. |
