Yes. Kiev was a feint. If it had been anything more than a feint, it wouldn't have been conducted with only 30 to 40,000 troops. It worked too. Ukraine kept sizable forces around Kiev which allowed the Russians to make immediate headway in the South and East.

Just like Ukraine is trying to pull off a feint in Kherson now which has brought a response of Russian troop movement back toward that area to make sure nothing happens. . Feints work and all war campaigns use them. We used them in Iraq.

You are such a neophyte. Read a book on warfare. Try Caesar's War Commentaries for starters. At least then you might get a basic knowledge of what to expect.
