The people of Fujian Province of the Republic of China are quite pragmatic w/r to the People's Republic of China

But so are the folks on the mainland, a/k/a the People's Republic of China, and even if Republic of China acts to write off the little bits of Fujian Province that is inconvenient in so far as truth goes, the folks on the mainland shall not let them, much less attacking the island.

PRC wants ROC to maintain its Constitution and sustain its claims of and on the Mainland.

Team USA might wish to change the status of ROC to just 'Taiwan'. Ain't going to happen. A guess. Just as the name Jerusalem must not change

In a war over the island, Teams Japan, S Korea, and four of the five-Eyes best stand aside, else not-good happens in a hurry. I fear the vector is just that simple.

IOW Kinmen has nothing to fear, but others should exercise caution. Another guess.
