IMO because politics is so corrosive and so full of low life assholes that will attack you and your family that really good people want no part of it

The evil assholes have really taken hold of political power

the george carlin monologue about the "american dream" was right on the money

I thot it was too pessimistic first time I listened to it, many years ago

but, apparently unfortunately he was spot on
