TRACK REPORT Our man in the field, gtoland, tells it like it is. Second leg of the test has just been completed. 690 ml in each graduated cylinder were consumed. This is more than the first leg of the test. I calculate it to be about 87 mpg. This is not official I must point out. Here's what happened. The GEO has a trans axel not designed for the diesel engine and they can't change its gears. As such they try to compensate by changing the size of the tire. The first run was with 14" tires (94.5 mpg), the second with 15" tires (about 87 mpg). And you guessed it, the third run will be with 13" tires. They are changing them now. Joe will drive the third leg. It is getting dark so this will probably be the last run. Let's hope they complete it.
