"Nancy Pelosi 'accomplished absolutely nothing' in Taiwan" - well let me disagree with your conclusion as it is obvious that you are not taking into account the mid-term election in the US.
Nancy Pelosi proved to the republicans that "she has courage" and will gain more votes for the Democratic party in November - that was all her goal in this trip to Taiwan.
Xi proved that he is a idiot by getting all fired up as a result of Pelosi Taiwan visit, spend billions on the show of force exercise where he proved that China army does not even know to shoot straight and landed rockets on Japan territory/waters.
TJ got all fired up from nothing - Taiwan population is around 26 million how many commercial hubs in China are greater than that?
China has a major economic and ecological disaster at its hands and the money spend on stupid show of power would have been better used to save people's lives their homes, workplaces and factories.

China's economy had a double hit - one from the real estate bubble and now from the torrential rains that caught China's CCP with their pants down.

The economic disaster is inconceivable if in loss of human life or hard assets.
During such a crisis you make military drills and search to have a diplomatic fight with the US instead to ask for help? Pure stupidity!!

Who is Nancy Pelosi? so what she made a visit to Taiwan? For that you get all fired up?

That proves the idiocy of most politicians and sadly TJ got caught in the meaningless excitement about Pelosi visit - who cares - it only proves that the CCP leadership is hot headed and can care less of the natural disaster that hurts so many people and China's economy.
