We like to think we are personally in control of our lives, but maybe that's not entirely so -g- In our natural primitive state, I can believe we are tolerant and civilized. It doesn't take much for events to take a wrong turn though, and then get steadily worse. I am charmed that Britain, for all it's issues and problems, has a segment of society (The Protestant "Loyalists") that universally, across all income classes within that segment, support a United Kingdom. The same attitude can be found amongst many immigrants in the country too. My daughters are fiercely for an independent Scotland. To disagree with them on that point would never do, so I act accordingly. There is usually a silver lining in every cloud, somewhere. It can take a while to turn up on occasions. I expect Xi has a lots of complicated considerations to make when it comes to policy. Various strong personalities and influencers need to be handled with care. People can be so sensitive on certain matters. I think Nancy Pelosi's visit made Xi's life easier. Like a big magnet neatly aligns a lot of smaller magnets in a single direction, she has unified direction and purpose in China's political considerations. And this is what is confusing me. I thought we were supposed to be competing with China, not making their lives easier ? Is Nancy on board as one of the team or is she a loose canon on deck ?? -g-
