Older dogs do teach puppies.

We run into a couple of puppies on yesterday’s evening walk. They had a lot of fun pestering our Shepherd who sort of enjoyed it. Then came a senior (12 year or so) old Labradoodle into the mix. The pups tried to take full advantage of this senior. Funny at the start but it got out of hand. Too much puppy for an old dog. I asked the puppy owners to reign in their super excited canines. They didn’t. They thought it was great fun. It got to the point where the old dog just laid down with the puppies nipping at him at which point I stepped in with my dog. Sort of a line of defense. They still kept coming which triggered my “Go, get them” command. Both puppies are ok aside from bring tossed a few feet.

PS: My wife was smart enough to videotape the whole thing

PPS: There is no limit to really stupid / ignorant dog owners.
