The boule capacity expansion was announced a while ago and keeps getting hyped. Wonder if that means they have trouble finding customers. GTAT didn't have much market share and they were a company with a very troubled past. Yes, GTAT's reputation is why I didn't put too much weight into their internal boule projections but onsemi continues to double down on them so I assume they are seeing progress. We obviously need to see how their internal supply progresses over time to get a real handle on the current technical barriers to growing SiC boules. The ramp in overall SiC revenues has been nothing short of astounding though. They clearly aren't having many issues ramping SiC component volumes using external substrates. Wolfspeed hasn't announced or I don't think they have even talked about a module factory. It seems like the focus has been shifting to modules over the last year or two but I don't remember any comments about their internal capabilities.
