Apparently you don't know how the MI budget works. You are talking about the regular military budget. Not the war budget.

There are a LOT of things "off budget."

Billions in VA money... pensions... lots of lucrative pensions. Medical, for every 12 guys who died in Vietnam from their injuries 11 now live but with massive IED injuries that cost millions each year to treat.

The NSA is bigger than the CIA and FBI combined... its off budget and secret. Lots of NSA secret missions.

NASA is 90% military... yup there's still a space shuttle, its just 100% military now.

Supposed non military hearts and minds is off budget.

Subsidizing and training the Iraq and Afghanistan military isn't on budget.

The wars aren't on the MI budget.

If there's ONE thing the government is good at its cooking the books. I think we can agree on that.

Big government republicans are A BIG part of it, but I became a LIBERtarian because the democrats were too.

==========

> What nonsense. Why was inflation so low over the past 30 years?

I'll explain it to you.

1) government debt spending is like a rubber band, the debt doesn't cause inflation the day they spend it, the economy stretches, the government prints money, and like a rubber band snapping back inflation eventually covers it. The Romans had the same problem.

2) China cheap labor (and other countries) and the advent of containerized shipping was so efficient it drove prices down. Labor is finally costing more in China and shipping obviously is costing more. IN OTHER WORDS... cheap sox at walmart... cheap phones...

Note that products that can't be outsourced have inflated a lot in 30 years... HOUSING... too many people building weapons. Not enough people in the hippy created tech business. Weapons manufacturers have deeper pockets than Google or Apple... basically infinitely deep.

> Ukraine and training Ukrainian soldiers.

> Why aren't you counting THAT as part of your inflation argument?

I do count that you dummy. Why wouldn't I? Its a small part of our MI budget though. We have 11-13 Nuclear Aircraft carrier GROUPS... Russia has ONE aging diesel carrier. China has ONE carrier converted from an obsolete Russian ship.

LIBERtarians have been against every war in my lifetime. I've supported TWO military interventions, neither with boots on the ground. Kosovo and Ukraine.

From an economic perspective Ukraine is doing the dirty work of depleting Russian supplies and manpower for us. Economically speaking supplying them is economically very efficacious, very cost effective and US soldiers aren't doing the dying.

So NOW you know a little more. I'm sure I'll be explaining more soon.
