Always has been... I was confused by why people would act against their own best interests until I watched several documentaries by genius documentarian Adam Curtis... Particularly part 3 of All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace

Then the truth all came together. Frightening and depressing but the truth... but you can't fight a problem until you identify the problem.

Seems that sociopath vs altruism are genetic, and like most things genetic its a bell curve. Most people are in the middle a little of both. But there are extremes.

The predisposition to be brainwashed vs skeptics who cannot be brainwashed is a genetic bell curve too.

On one side of the bell curve are people who cannot be brainwashed on the other are people who WANT to be brainwashed... they want others to do their thinking for them. Again most people are in the middle... somewhat religious not devout... etc.

Trump's supporter are of two types:

1) the sociopaths who lie and bandy propaganda knowing full well its not true, they USE the saps

2) the saps who are easily brainwashed

This is why you can look back at history and see how the former used the latter. Like "nobility" and the "church" using serfs in the middle ages. Lazy fucks who convinced the rubes all sorts of nonsense using cathedrals and mumbo jumbo that they should do the hard work while the lazy fucks relaxed. Same as the slave state Aristocracy convinced poor whites that at least there was one group worse off than them... slaves. The slave states of course are Trump's biggest supporters.

Unfortunately Curtis also points out that propaganda became scientific with Edward Bernays... Goebbels' favorite.... and no doubt plenty of Trumps propagandists are aware of Bernays. Curtis details that story in " Century of the Self" ... both documentaries the best I've ever seen.

We are fighting for the minds of the middle of the bell curves.
