That is bizarre for me - So you took my first-person account about my mom having her kindergartner (me) come home after she realized during Kennedy's speech she might be spending he last day on Earth with family to ACTUALLY be an insult about your mom ? No one has ever accused me of attacking anyone's mom in 23 years on SI.

And you persist in that belief despite my explanations to the contrary. That is dedication.

But since you keep bringing her up - maybe your mom has her own memory of the Cuban Missile Crisis and what she was doing that day - did she share that with you? Otherwise you don't have a personal experience with near-nuclear confrontation with the Soviets as a ground zero target. We made nuclear missiles in my town.

If you go back to my post and read it in the context that I meant - you would have to honestly admit I showed your mom no malice but suggest that based upon my recollection of your age - late mid 30's to late 40's - neither you nor she would have had my mother's "family-go-boom" realization on October 22, 1962 any more than you'd have my personal experience of watching Neil Armstrong on the moon in real time in 1969. Maybe you are a very late life child - but YOU still would not have been there to remember it.

That is all I was saying. My memory shaped me. Your lack of a first-hand memory shaped you.
