The movie "War Games" is an interesting historically relevant tale of a kid who breaks into early 1980's computers and manages to almost start nuclear war via wargaming with an AI program. As the "game" is played out - the US DoD goes on high alert as simulated attacks are played out and the AI system takes people out of the Command and Control Loop.

It holds up reasonably well.
